Short Cakes
2 cup flour
2 Tbls Sugar
1 Tbls Baking Powder
½ tsp Salt
½ cup Cold Butter
1 Egg
½ cup Milk
Pre Heat oven to 450 degrees
Combine first four ingredients into the bowl of a food processor; Pulse to combine. Cut butter into pats and add to the food processor. Pulse the food possessor until the butter has been cut into the flour. In a bowl beat the egg in the butter. With processor running add the mixture. The resulting dough will be very similar to biscuit dough. Gently knead together and then roll out to approximately 1 inch thickness. Cut into your desired shape and arrange on a cookie sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 6-8 shortcakes
Strawberry Topping
3# Strawberries (cut however you prefer)
¼ cup Dessert Riesling
½ cup Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
Mix all ingredient together at least an hour before serving. Spoon over short cakes and top with whip cream.
